English Literature and Literary History—Winchester and London
LIT 491: British Classics (Study Abroad England)

Join us for a study abroad trip to England with stays in Winchester and London. Linked to Literature 432 (Major Writers), this experience involves travel to a number of sites important to British Literature and History, including the British Museum, Stratford upon Avon, Winchester Cathedral, and Jane Austen’s House. You’ll explore unique museums, cities, and wonderful cultural activities such as attending a play at the Globe Theatre, as well as other guided excursions throughout your nearly two-week stay.

To Get Started
Step 1: The preferred application deadline is Jan. 19, 2024. The Final application deadline is Feb. 2, 2024. Positions are limited, so please apply early to get preference. Download the application (link below) and turn it into the Office of International Studies, Liberal Arts Building, Suite 700, along with your receipt of the $500 deposit and $150 application fee, both of which are included in the overall price.
Step 2: Register for the spring course: LIT 491 (if you choose to audit the course to participate in the program, please contact the instructor directly)
Step 3: Be interviewed and accepted into the faculty-led program
Step 4: Make payment arrangements with the Business Office to complete the program payments (final payment deadline varies)
Step 5: Finalize any outstanding documentation for study abroad
Step 6: Purchase round-trip airfare to London, England – coordinate with faculty leader and other students
Step 7: Participate in mandatory Outbound Orientation & complete other pre-departure requirements
