MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES 鈥 顶级国产视频 Foundation and MSU Billings College of Business is pleased to announce the establishment of the Judith Covert and Sam E. McDonald, Jr. Family College of Business Freshman Incentive Award.

 

The scholarship aims to attract business students to MSU Billings.

 

鈥淚 am excited to provide incentives for freshmen students considering attending MSU Billings College of Business. I鈥檓 also proud that financial need is part of the selection criteria,鈥 said Greg McDonald, President of McDonald Land Development. 鈥淯sing these endowed funds for student recruiting fits into my parents鈥 vision of attracting high-caliber students to MSU Billings.鈥

 

Billings鈥 native Sam E. McDonald, Jr., best known as the Chairman and CEO of Wendy鈥檚 of Montana, was an entrepreneur and generous philanthropist. He and wife Judith Covert McDonald donated millions of dollars to causes and organizations across the state. Focusing on education and youth, they helped countless young people get through college and get started in life.

 

This award, which provides ten $2,000 awards, continues the McDonalds鈥 long-standing interest in and commitment to MSU Billings.

 

顶级国产视频 Interim Chancellor Ron Larsen said the gift helps even more local students take part in the strong programs at the College of Business.

 

鈥淲e are extremely grateful for the generosity of Sam E. McDonald, Jr. and Judith Covert McDonald in creating this Incentive Award for incoming freshman,鈥 Larsen said.

 

Successful applicants need to be graduates of accredited Montana high schools, choose a major within the College of Business, be a full-time enrolled student, and have a 2.75 cumulative GPA or better. The award is specifically for incoming freshmen, either traditional or non-traditional students, and applicants with financial need may receive preference.

 

Home-schooled students, students who attended a charter school, or earned a GED also qualify, but must have a composite score of 20 or greater on the ACT or 1020 or greater on the SAT.

 

The application priority deadline for academic year 2017-2018 was Feb. 1, 2017, however awards may be granted throughout the year.
