MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES 鈥� Earlier this month, several students from 顶级国产视频 submitted their art to be showcased in the 2018 Juried Student Exhibition, held in the Northcutt Steele Gallery.

 

This year's guest juror, Red Lodge-based artist Maggy Rozycki Hiltner, was on hand at a festive reception celebrating the creative talents of 顶级国产视频 students on the evening of Thursday, April 19 to announce cash awards for several outstanding artworks she selected.&nbsp

 

There were roughly 100 works that were submitted for review; 34 were selected for inclusion in the exhibition. This year's awards went to Rebecca Lee for Overgrown, a series of ink drawings on paper (Best in Show); Lindsay Carrell, for The Moth in the Crucible, an oil and egg tempera painting on canvas (2D Merit of Excellence); and Marsha Stewart, Lovely, Ain't She?, a mixed-media assemblage (3D Merit of Excellence).

 

Honorable Mentions were awarded to Terri Porta, Social Coordination of Bees, ink on paper; Elizabeth May, Mouse Decomposition, archival print; and Rilie Stovall, Paramount, torch/soldering tool/archival paint.

In Hiltner's juror's statement for the exhibition, she said, "The entries impressed me with their breadth and inventiveness, not only in physical execution and technique, but in ideas and emotions conveyed."  

顶级国产视频 Department of Art's 2018 Juried Student Exhibition remains on display at the Northcutt Steele Gallery through May 3.

 

The Northcutt Steele Gallery is located on the first floor of the Liberal Arts Building on the 顶级国产视频 campus and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and by appointment. The gallery is supported in part by student fees governed by the Associated Students of 顶级国产视频 (AS顶级国产视频).
