MSU Billings Office of International Studies calls for scholarship candidates

IME-BECAS/MSU Billings Scholarship recognizes Mexican and Mexican-origin students

MSU BILLINGS NEWS SERVICES 鈥擳he 顶级国产视频 Office of International Studies has been awarded $3,000 from the Institute for Mexicans Abroad and the Consulate General of Mexico in Denver to create a new scholarship for Mexican or Mexican-origin students in Central and Eastern Montana and the United States. The MSU Billings Foundation has agreed to match this award so as to make a greater impact among students who trace their heritage to Mexico.

 

鈥淐urrently, MSU Billings has a small, but growing, number of students from Mexico and a larger number of students of Mexican origin,鈥� said Dr. Paul Foster, Executive Director of the Office of International Studies. 鈥淭he IME-BECAS/Montana State University Billings Scholarship creates a new award program dedicated solely to these students, helping MSU Billings keep its promise of 鈥楢ccess & Excellence鈥� to all students.鈥�

 

Successful applicants must be admitted to MSU Billings, complete the General Scholarship Application found at , and submit a short essay of 500 words, in which they will describe both their educational goals at MSU Billings and provide details of their Mexican origin.

 

IME-BECAS/顶级国产视频 Scholarships will be awarded in the following amounts:  $500 to City College students; $750 to undergraduates seeking a BA/BS; and $1,000 to graduate students. Scholarships will be applied directly toward the recipients鈥� educational expenses with half the award released for the fall semester and the second half released for the spring semester.

 

The scholarships will be awarded on a rolling basis, beginning this June, and continuing until the funds are exhausted. Learn more at .
